My Experience with Udayana University Coaching Bootcamp FCN 2025

This May, I had the privilege of being part of something powerful—an initiative designed not just to educate, but to ignite. Hosted by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Udayana University, the FISIP Coaching Network (FCN) Bootcamp 2025 was a three-day program that brought together twelve brilliant students from different academic backgrounds and generations.

This was no ordinary bootcamp. It was a thoughtful blend of digital marketing coaching, project-based learning, and deep interpersonal engagement. With participants coming from Communication Studies, International Relations, Sociology, and Political Science, each team was a mix of perspectives, experiences, and creativity—proof that diversity is not just valuable, but vital in driving impactful innovation.

The bootcamp was divided into three immersive days:

Day 1: Held online, it kicked off with an introductory coaching session where we explored digital marketing fundamentals—from SEO to Social Media Marketing (SMM), content strategy, and Google Ads.

Day 2: The participants met face-to-face at the Udayana University Sudirman Campus, bringing their team ideas into deeper discussion. I provided individual coaching and feedback sessions, where teams refined their concepts, learned to think more strategically, and considered their market fit and long-term sustainability.

Day 3: Hosted at NutriHub, the final day was about celebration and presentation. Teams showcased their projects, turning ideas into real proposals and prototypes. It was inspiring to see the growth in just three days—from unsure beginnings to confident, thoughtful pitches.

Meet the Teams: Real Problems, Real Solutions

Each of the four teams tackled real issues faced by young people today—problems they themselves live with, giving their solutions genuine depth and relevance.

Team 1 – “TagMe” by Keisha, Kalista, and Ratri

The Problem: Lost personal items in shared public spaces—classrooms, libraries, prayer rooms—often go unclaimed.

The Solution: TagMe is a customizable, waterproof QR-code sticker for personal belongings. When scanned, it directs the finder to a profile page where they can contact the owner—without revealing private information. With designs ranging from cute to minimalist, it’s not just functional, but fashionable.

“In a world where personalization and practicality are key, TagMe has the potential to become a daily essential for students and commuters alike.”

Team 2 – “Brainlink” by Dian, Annisa, and Restyawan

The Problem: Students face growing pressure to complete academic tasks without sufficient access to quality resources or mentorship.

The Solution: Brainlink is a community-driven digital platform that curates open-access academic journals and offers peer-to-peer support. It’s both a library and a mentorship space—students help students, guided by academic integrity and practical experience.

“Brainlink addresses not just the access gap in academic resources, but the emotional and intellectual isolation many students feel.”

Team 3 – “Langkah Satu” by Intan, Rechel, and Jason

The Problem: Young adults often feel lost in their twenties, unsure of direction and afraid of failure.

The Solution: Langkah Satu (“First Step”) is a safe space community for young people to share stories, try new things, and reflect on their journey. It celebrates small steps and embraces failure as a natural part of growth—encouraging resilience and confidence.

“Sometimes, all someone needs is a space to feel seen and heard. Langkah Satu could be that space.”

Team 4 – “F2F” by Olin, Nanda, and Reinaldo

The Problem: Current raincoats are impractical for young motorcyclists—hard to put on, often ineffective, and never stylish.

The Solution: F2F is a one-piece jumpsuit raincoat designed for ease and style. With full-body zippers and modern fashion elements, it promises comfort, quick wearability (without removing helmets or shoes), and weatherproof protection.

“With F2F, practicality meets personality—redefining rainwear for the next generation.”

As a coach and mentor during the program, I witnessed how quickly ideas can blossom when given the right environment. What stood out most was the sense of ownership each team had over their project. These weren’t abstract case studies they were solving problems they truly cared about.

I saw students evolve in real time: refining their communication, sharpening their digital strategies, and most importantly learning to work as a team despite coming from different years and disciplines.

Bootcamps like this are more than workshops they are incubators of changemakers. The FCN Bootcamp didn’t just teach digital marketing. It nurtured leadership, empathy, collaboration, and bold thinking.

To the organizing team behind FISIP Coaching Network 2025: thank you for trusting me to be part of this incredible journey. And to Udayana University: thank you for creating a campus that not only educates, but inspires.

As we move toward a more connected and purpose-driven Indonesia, spaces like this will be the foundation of future innovation.

Let’s keep building them.
